Students who have taken the Arts Appreciation Education Course and participated in any activity in the university’s Arts Center Programs can have a certification stamp on the activity certification page of the Arts Passports inside their Community & Peer Education Passport.
- Please be sure to fill in your personal information in detail.
- Must have an on-site stamp or admission ticket. Public relations tickets, event flyers, and DM will not be accepted.
- For exhibitions/performances/lectures, the title, date, and venue of the activity shall be noted, and students shall write an essay of approximately 50 words on their thoughts after participating in the event. If the content has nothing to do with the purpose of the event, then certification will be denied.
- Certification standards for different types of activities:(I) Exhibitions | Tickets or exhibition theme stamps are the basis for certification. The same exhibition in the first and second semesters cannot be stamped twice.
(II) Performances and lectures:
(A) General cultural and educational institutions | Tickets or stamps are regarded as the basis for certification. Arts film festivals may be considered as performing arts activities, but not as exhibitions.(B) Movies airing in theaters and computer information trade fairs are not considered performing arts activities.
(C) Performances (including night activities)/ lectures held by student associations and departments in the university do not need to apply for certification stamps from the Arts Center. To complete certification, student associations and departments only need to provide relevant certification stamps or participation certificates. They may also ask the lecturer to sign; write down the title, date, and venue of the event on the passport; and then write an essay of 50 words on their thoughts after participating in the event.
(D) Classic general education lectures: The classic general education lectures held in the Hao Ran International Conference Hall on Floor B1 of the library every Wednesday afternoon from 13:20 to 15:10 can be included in performance/lecture certification. To complete certification, students must write down the title, date, and venue of the lecture on the passport; write an essay of 50 words on their thoughts after the classic general education lecture is over; and then give the passport to the staff on duty for stamps at the Gallery service desk on Floor B1 of the library before 18:30 on the same day. Note that passports will not be stamped after the specified time on that day.
(E) Principal’s Lectures: The principal’s Lectures in Mentor Time can be included in the performance/lecture certification. After attending the Principal’s Lecture, staple or paste the certification card obtained onto the passport and write down the title, date, and venue of the lecture and an essay of 50 words to complete certification.
(F) The main purpose of Dialogue with the Principal seminars is to communicate with the principal. It does not conform to the spirit of art appreciation education and is thus not included in the performance/lecture certification.

- Q: If I fail in any semester, do I need to re-register for the course?
A: You will need to re-register and retake the course.
- Q: If I fail to meet the course requirements in the first semester of the first year, can I retake the course in the second semester of the first year?
A: No. Starting from the second year, you can register and retake the Art and Literature Appreciation Education course every semester. Please complete where you fail to meet the course requirements.
- Q: If in the last year when I am about to graduate and I still have not completed the Art and Literature Appreciation Education course, can still I get a diploma?
A: You cannot obtain a diploma and must postpone your graduation. You must complete the Art and Literature Appreciation Education course before graduation. The Art and Literature Appreciation Education course will be offered in the summer to senior students as an elective course, so please make use of it.
- Q: Can the performances or exhibitions I go to during the winter and summer vacations be included in the course certification?
A: Yes.
- Q: If the performance or exhibition I go to does not provide a ticket or stamp, can it still be included in the certification? Some exhibitions are free, and some I can attend by swiping my leisure card. What if there is no ticket stub? What should I do if there is no ticket stub nor stamp for the exhibition?
A: In principle, tickets and exhibition theme stamps are the basis for certification. In such cases, please first ask the exhibition service desk if you can get a ticket voucher or exhibition stamp. If so, then paste the ticket voucher or have the exhibition stamp on your passport. Exhibition leaflets cannot be used for certification.
- Q: Can the exhibitions and performances I attend while abroad be included?
A: Yes, as long as you have tickets or exhibition theme stamps for certification.
- Q: What should I do to get a stamp in the Chiao Tung University Art Gallery?
A: There are always two exhibitions in the Chiao Tung University Art Gallery. On the left is the Arts Curio Cabinets, which exhibits cultural and creative products. After admiring the exhibits there, write down the name, time, and location of the exhibition and an essay of approximately 50 words on your passport. Then, give your passport to the staff on duty at the Art Gallery service desk for certification stamps.
On the right-hand side is the Art Space exhibition with a two-story exhibition space. After admiring the exhibition, scan the QR code to fill in the online study form. Then, write down the name, time, and location of the exhibition and an essay of approximately 50 words on your passport, and then give your passport to the staff on duty at the Art Space service desk for certification stamps. - Q: In addition to the Art Space on Floor B1 of the library, are there any other exhibitions on the Chiao Tung University Campus for certification?

(a) Permanent exhibitions on Floor 8 of the Hao Ran Library on the Chiao Tung University Campus: Floor 8 of the Hao Ran Library has exhibitions, such as the permanent exhibition “Colors of Taiwan · Local Art – Yuwen Tseng Solo Exhibition.” After admiring the works, write down the name, time, and location of the exhibition and an essay of approximately 50 words on your passport. Then, give your passport to the staff on duty at the Art Space service desk for certification stamps.(b) University History Museum (Development Museum) on Floor 7 of the Hao Ran Library on the Chiao Tung University Campus: After visiting the university history museum, write down the name, time, and location of the exhibition and an essay of approximately 50 words on your passport and get a stamp in the university history museum for certification.
(c) Exhibitions in the second-floor lobby of the Hao Ran Library on the Chiao Tung University Campus: The second-floor lobby of the Hao Ran Library will have a new special exhibition every month. After admiring the works, write down the name, time, and location of the exhibition and an essay of approximately 50 words on your passport. Then, give your passport to the staff on duty at the Art Gallery service desk for certification stamps.
Note: If you already have certification for any of the above exhibitions in the first semester, then you will not be able to get a certification for the same exhibition in the second semester.
- Q: What activities on campus can be included in the performance/lecture certification?
A:
(a) Arts Center Program Brochure: The Arts and Culture Center publishes a brochure for art and cultural activities in the semester every six months. Students who participate in any exhibition, performance, or lecture listed in the brochure can have a certification in their passport.(b) Performances of student associations, night activities held by departments, speeches: Please refer to Item 4 of the Notice on Certification.

- Q: I am the organizer of an event on campus. If I cannot provide certificate of participation in the event, can I borrow the certification stamp from the Arts and Culture Center?
A: Yes! You can borrow Performance/Speech stamps from the Arts Center. Please go to the Art Gallery service desk on Floor B1 of the Hao Ran Library to inquire about the process. (Currently, we do not have exhibition stamps for borrowing. Only Performance/Speech stamps are available for borrowing.)
